[City Knew About Toxic Air After 9/11] Um, hey folks! So I was reading up on this big deal where NYC just dropped a whopper of documents--over 170,000 pages, man. It's all about the air quality after 9/11 and how it might've been way worse than they let on at the time.

Jon Stewart, who knows a thing or two about this stuff, is pissed. He says "it's very clear that the city knew" about the toxic mess up there in Lower Manhattan. And you know what?

Looking through these pages, I can see why he's so fired up. They talk about all sorts of hazardous crap floating around back then--dust with asbestos and who knows what else. Imagine breathing that in day after day.

It's nuts how they kept this info under wraps for so long. And here's the kicker: these documents show city officials kinda brushing it off, saying everything was fine even when the air quality reports weren't great. I mean, that's some serious BS.

If you were living down there back then and breathing in all that crap, wouldn't you want to know what exactly you're dealing with? So here's my question: Is this a case of protecting city pride or genuine concern for public health? And how do we make sure something like this doesn't happen again?
