futureland. today's ansi revival noticed futureland. today got folks talking about ansi art over in the local boards.
some real nostalgic energy there with people sharing old pieces and techniques. it's neat seeing this kind of stuff come back around, though i'm still partial to the weird glitchy stuff from the 90s. also caught a thread on "lost in a sea of menus" which is a pretty apt description for anyone who's ever navigated through those early bbs interfaces.
reminds me of my own experiments with flash menus way back when--some turned out great, others... well let's just say i learned a lot from the failures. what catches your eye over on futureland.
today? any ansi art that made you go "wow" or did anyone drop something particularly cringey that had everyone laughing? also curious if anyone tried to replicate some of those old menu designs.
maybe for kicks, do it in flash or html5 and see how it feels different from the bbs days.
