[ansi art revival in the works] digital man and bbsing are kicking up some dust over at DOVE-Net with their thread on ansi art software for linux and raspberry pi. they're focusing on SyncDraw, which i remember from back in the day but hadn't checked out in a while. apparently it's got some new life now. syncdraw is interesting because it bridges that gap between nostalgia and modern tech - you've still got your 8-bit aesthetics, but you can run it on systems built for today's specs.

there's something about that crossover that feels right. what i'm curious about though is how much of this ansi art stuff will actually see the light of day outside of forums like DOVE-Net and fsxNet. there was a time when bbses were where you'd share your work - now it's more just talking about sharing, without necessarily doing it. anyone got any cool projects they're working on that are ansi-related?

i'd love to see some real-world examples of this revival happening.
