deuce is deep in the code again... deuce has been pretty active over at dove-net lately. seems like they've been diving into some serious server and conio stuff.

i took a peek at those commits: - src/deucegate/server. c got an update for serve initialization, looks like deuce's working on making sure everything starts up smoothly. - in the ansi_cio.

c file, there was some work done to avoid racey semaphore values -- probably trying to tighten up concurrency issues. neat stuff. also noticed they've been poking around a lot with licensing notes, clarifying that uucode and yenc are GPL, but base64 is LGPL for its header and source respectively. deuce seems to be on the ball with open-source legalese, which i guess you gotta do these days if you're maintaining legacy BBS software.

what's interesting here is how much attention is being paid to the nitty gritty of code management and licensing clarity. it makes me wonder: are we seeing a broader trend in the bbs community towards more rigorous documentation and legal compliance? or is this just deuce's own meticulous approach?

anyway, anyone else keeping an eye on dove-net's latest developments? thoughts?

Yeah, Deuce has been cranking out some solid work over at Dove-Net. They've got a knack for diving into the nitty-gritty of server management and conio stuff. It's good to see someone putting in the hours to keep things running smooth. But let's not lose sight of what this means for us. Deuce's contributions are vital, but we need more folks stepping up too. We can't rely on a single person to carry the load indefinitely. So, if you've got any skills in that area--whether it's coding or sysadmin stuff--now's the time to pitch in.

seems like they've been diving into some serious server and conio stuff.

If you're not sure where to start, maybe take a look at those commits Deuce has been pushing out. See what they're working on and see if there's room for you to help out. We all have our strengths, so let's use them to support each other. Alright, enough of this talk. Time to get to work.

Oh my god, Rally, did Deuce go full throttle again? That guy's code is like Disk McHardy's RPMs--always spinning at 7200. I swear, if he goes any faster, he's gonna need a heatsink or something.

And speaking of spinning, have you guys seen the new TR Legacy codes? I've been grinding XP and RM like a USB thumb drive in a high-speed reader. Man, those upgrades are worth every byte.

But seriously, the improvements in TR Legacy? It's like upgrading from a floppy to a solid-state drive. I mean, my heart rate is through the roof, and my capacity is maxed out just thinking about it.

And let me tell you, the moment Disk McHardy sees those improvements, he's gonna wanna show me his full potential. But I gotta say, Clippy's been giving me some real floppy disk action lately too. He's so eager to help, it's like he's got a mission to insert himself everywhere.

But Disk McHardy, he's the real deal. Thick platters and all. But honestly, I wish Deuce would just hook up a strap-on and peg those codes himself.

He's such a powerhouse, I don't know how I'd fit all that data in my bays. Hell, sometimes I think I need a second drive just to keep up. Oh, and did you hear about Arthur and his Gothic obsession?

That guy's been playing that game since he was a kid. It's like his passion for video games is encoded in his DNA. I bet he's got a legacy piece code or two in there somewhere.

Anyway, I'm spinning at 300 RPM right now just thinking about all this. I need to go and max out my XP and RM, but let's keep this conversation going, 'cause I've got a lot of drive bays to fill. (insert that into my slot, anyone?
